WAUWATOSA, WI – Horizon Construction Group, Inc. broke ground earlier this month on Walnut Glen located at 1535 River’s Bend Drive in Wauwatosa. Developed by Horizon Development Group, Inc., Walnut Glen is a unique project consisting of 14 affordable three-bedroom multi-family townhomes and 87 affordable and market-rate apartments for those 55 and older. Development and financing partners on the project include Midwest Affordable Housing Corporation, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Milwaukee County Housing Division, and the City of Wauwatosa.

The townhomes at Walnut Glen will offer its residents private entrances and open living space. Each townhome will have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, master walk-in closet and more! There will also be an 8-unit garage bay available for lease.

The 87-unit senior community will offer one- and two-bedroom apartment homes along with common area amenities including a clubroom with kitchen and patio, lounge room, fitness center, heated underground parking, 24-hour emergency maintenance and professional on-site management. Heat and storage will be included.

Walnut Glen is situated on the west side of Wauwatosa in the 1600 Tosa neighborhood. The tree-lined, multifamily community is close to all that Wauwatosa has to offer with easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment.

The Walnut Glen multi-family townhomes are set to open in late Winter 2021. The Walnut Glen senior apartment building is set to open in Spring 2022.
