Madison, WI – A team from Horizon Construction Group, Inc. had the opportunity to attend Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin’s SuperCon ’24 held in Wisconsin Dells, WI last week.
Horizon Construction Group, Inc. (Horizon) was the proud recipient of ABC’s Safety Award of Excellence. This prestigious award goes to one contractor each over three categories, based on hours worked. The awards recognize outstanding safety performance, program development and adaptability in evolving safety standards.
Horizon’s safety team has been working diligently on their commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence within our organization. In 2023, field personnel completed 700+ hours of safety training sessions dedicated to improving safety awareness. All field personnel are compliant with the required safety training which includes OSHA 30/10, First Aid and CPR training. In addition to on-going training, all Horizon job sites discontinued the use of rope grabs and require safer fall protection alternatives. Horizon Construction Group, Inc. wrapped up 2023 with zero OSHA violations, zero OSHA visits and zero work-related job injuries.
Looking ahead to 2024, by February end in celebration of American Heart Month, Horizon will have installed an AED in every trailer on large job sites, in addition to the Madison corporate office.
