Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel

Horizon worked as the design-build general contractor on this project which included a 45,000 square foot waterpark and 243 key resort hotel. The project was finished under budget, and the savings returned to the client were used for upgrades and improvements throughout. Construction was also completed in 12 months, which was two months ahead of schedule.

The waterpark, at over one acre in size, includes a three-story elevated lazy river, water climbing rock wall, water jumps, slides and obstacles. The property also includes restaurants, bars, concession areas, a gift shop, storytelling area.

Upon completion in 2012, Soaring Eagle was the largest indoor water resort in the state of Michigan. Horizon designed the waterpark in a way that connected the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe culture to themed elements such as symbols, landscape murals, and a museum-quality tree sculpture.
