MADISON, WI – Horizon Construction Group, Inc. (Horizon) proudly announces its recent participation in the Women in Focus (WIF) Scholarship Reception, an event dedicated to awarding scholarships to deserving students of color in Dane County, Wisconsin. Horizon had the privilege of witnessing a senior at East High School accept their scholarship donation, furthering their dream of becoming an architect.
Since 1983, WIF has aimed to encourage and support the education of students of color in Dane County and help assist them as they begin their post-high school education. This year, $72,500 in scholarships were awarded to 29 deserving high school seniors in Dane County, reflecting the organization’s commitment to fostering diversity and excellence in education.
Reflecting on the experience, a spokesperson from Horizon remarked, “To listen to the story of our scholarship recipient was incredibly touching. The hard work they have put in to get where they are, considering the obstacles previously laid out before them, is amazing when you consider that they are still just kids. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to donate to such a great cause, but also to attend such an impactful event.”
