Madison, WI – 2023 at Horizon proved to be a fun, successful and giving year!
Horizon Develop Build Manage was chosen as a Top Workplace for the 5th consecutive year and saw an employee growth rate of 15.6%! This is such a testament to the culture Horizon has built on our values of honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion. We value our teams immensely and continue to strive for a flexible, motivating and challenging work environment.
Our culture also supports the commitment to giving back to the communities with which we live, work and play. Horizon hosted our inaugural Chip in for Charity Golf Classic which raised an astonishing $85,000! All proceeds have been donated to UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a huge accomplishment that was made successful by our partners, clients, customers, and employees. Horizon also donated over 360lbs. of non-perishable food items to Second Harvest Food Book of Southeastern Wisconsin over the holidays.
Horizon Development Group, Inc. was awarded two tax-credit projects this year; Layton Preserve located in Greenfield, WI and JB Lofts located in Dubuque, Iowa. Horizon Development Group also submitted their first tax credit application in the state of Michigan!
Horizon Construction Group, Inc. started it’s 20th project with Continental Properties, Springs at McKnight Lake located in Chaska, Minnesota. This has been an ongoing partnership spanning three states since their first project for Continental Properties in 2012. Horizon Construction placed 7 properties in service between Wisconsin and Illinois in 2023. We are proud to announce that Horizon Construction Group was awarded ABC’s Safety Award of Excellence! Horizon Construction had zero OSHA violations, zero OSHA visits and zero work-related job injuries.
Horizon Management Services, Inc. had an incredible year successfully bringing on 13 properties totaling 1,054 units throughout Wisconsin and Illinois. The Horizon Management Services portfolio averaged 97% occupancy in 2023.
Among our achievements in 2023, we managed to have plenty of fun hosting potlucks, group outings, holiday parties and more! In 2024, Horizon will celebrate 40 years in business! We look forward to what the year will bring and how our teams work together to accomplish our goals while aligning with our company values.
